Position Overview
Tremendous Opportunity for a Hematologist Oncologist with transplant experience to join an Autologous Transplant Program, along with a Cellular Therapy Program, including CAR-T immune therapies and solid tumor CAR-T trials.
The transplant program is based at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, a 900+ bed tertiary medical center and flagship teaching hospital, offering full specialty care, residencies, fellowships, and now part of Jefferson and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. The program will be overseen by Usama Gergis, MD, MBA, Director of Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT), and Professor of Oncology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia.
In a Hematologist Oncologist Career within our Cancer Institute, you can expect:
- New 22-bed Hematology/Oncology Unit with protected environment, positive pressure, HEPA filtrated rooms for transplant and hematologic malignancy patients.
- 100% OCN Certified Nursing, one of only 23 U.S. hospitals to receive Magnet Nursing recognition five times over two decades from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- Referral access to 32 Hematology/Oncology physicians within the Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute for the Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program, including a malignant hematology inpatient service with subspecialists and dedicated APCs experienced in transplant and CAR-T therapies.
- Approximately 7,000 new analytic cancer cases annually, serving a population of over 1 million.
- Nine Hematology/Oncology Fellows in training, with dedicated APC support.
- Blood Banking support, including experience supporting bone marrow transplant programs.
- 24/7 Neuro ICU in-house intensivists, sophisticated Medical ICU, largest Emergency Room in the state, and full medical specialty support for the program.

Qualifications
- Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
- Experience with stem cell transplant
- Valid PA Medical License or ability to obtain one is required
