Job summary

Thomas Mechanical in Laurens, SC is seeking a knowledgeable HVAC Helper with a customer-first attitude to join our team. You will support Lead Installers on commercial projects, traveling to job sites across the Upstate region as needed.

You will install and fabricate ductwork, assist with equipment setup, and communicate progress to the Lead Installer. A minimum of 2 years in commercial HVAC install and reliable tools are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in Commercial HVAC Installation.
• Universal EPA and OSHA 10 Certified preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record to travel to multiple job sites.
• Must own all hand tools for HVAC install; torches, pumps, and recovery provided by Thomas Mechanical.
• Strong verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set up of equipment, running refrigerant lines, drain lines, and high and low voltage electrical
• Brazing, soft solder, pulling vacuum, and reclaiming
• Install AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, Boilers, Chillers, and Fan Coil Units
• Assist in the installation and on-site fabrication of ductwork as needed and assigned by Lead Installer
• Communicate regularly with Lead Installer on job status, providing regular reports of completion or roadblocks

Managing time effectively to meet deadlines and keep projects on track is imperative.

Schedule:

• Monday-Thursday (7:00 am - 5:00 pm)

Work Location:

• We serve the entire Upstate of South Carolina and occasionally neighboring states. This role requires travel to job sites as needed, with no daily reporting to the main office in Laurens, SC
