+ We are hiring immediately for a full-time Helper Cook position.

+ Location: Kirby Inland Marine - 16441 De Zavalla Road, Channelview, TX 77530. Note: online applications accepted only.

+ Schedule: Full-time, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm. Days may vary; more details provided during interview.

+ Requirement: Ability to work independently in the evenings.

Job Summary

Assists in food preparation and cooking, maintains food safety and sanitation standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Read menu to estimate food requirements; order or procure food.
2. Prepare and cook food following recipes and standards.
3. Adjust oven and equipment controls for proper temperatures.
4. Measure and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
5. Bake, roast, broil, and steam foods under guidance; add seasonings as instructed.
6. Test food for quality; carve, portion, and garnish as directed.
7. Prepare fruits and vegetables; butcher meats and seafood as directed.
8. Bake bread, cakes, and pastries as permitted.
9. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the work area.
10. Interact courteously and efficiently with customers and coworkers.
11. Ensure compliance with service standards, inventory, and cash procedures.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
