Qualifications

• Prior cooking experience is required.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and safety standards.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced campus food-service environment.

Responsibilities

• Learns to read menu to estimate food requirements.
• Prepares and cooks food according to recipes.
• Adjust thermostat controls to regulate oven temperatures.
• Measures and mixes ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Bakes, roasts, broils and steam meats, fish, vegetables and other foods.
• Tests food by tasting and checking for doneness.
• Carves meat and portions food for serving with gravies and garnishes.
• Maintains sanitation and safety in kitchen areas.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers courteously.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
