Job Duties

Mindak Commercial Construction, LLC in Lonsdale, MN, seeks 20 Helper - Carpenters for temporary, full-time employment (10/01/2026 to 07/15/2027). Duties: Install wood structural components, move materials around the construction site, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Erect and position braces. Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site. Fasten lumber with glue, screws, pegs, or nails and install hardware. Select tools, equipment, or materials from storage and transport items to the work site. Align, straighten, plumb, or square forms for installation. Cut lumber or paneling to specified dimensions. Drill holes in lumber. Position and hold timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting. Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers. May perform other job duties pursuant to 47-3012, Helpers - Carpenters. 35+ hours/week. 9-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 4:30 am. 5-6 days per week, Mon-Sat. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies and must be pre-approved. No formal education, training or experience required. On-the-job training will be provided. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Good teamwork and collaboration effort. Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills. Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching is required on a daily basis. A full range of physical motion is required in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools, sprayers, and construction-related equipment. The ability to move throughout the building, including climbing stairs and to work at heights from ladders or scaffolding, in order to perform construction-related work is required. Work is performed indoors and outdoors, occasionally in environments that are dusty, noisy, or which could have work hazards. $21.18/hr; O/T $31.77/hr. The H-2B Temporary Helper - Carpenters will perform job duties at 130 Delaware Street SE, Lonsdale, MN 55046 and at multiple worksites within the area of intended employment, including the following counties: Rice, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington. Employer will offer daily transportation to and from worksites, or employee may report directly to the worksite on their own.

Employer Assurances Pursuant To 20 CFR 655.20

• Single work week used in computing wages due.
• Wages paid weekly.
• Work tools, supplies & equipment provided without cost to employee.
• Workers have the option of employer-provided housing for $150 per week, and if elected, employer will deduct costs from worker's paycheck. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.
• Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law and any non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee.
• Employer will arrange & pay directly for transportation & subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work. Employer will issue reimbursement within the first workweek when required to meet FLSA minimum wage obligations. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, if the worker has no immediately subsequent H-2B employment, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
• Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & related fees, incl. those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
• The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
