A leading building materials distributor is searching for a Service Technician Carpenter for jobsites around the Twin Cities area. Schedule

Mon-Fri: 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Wage

$26.00 - $35.00+ per hour based on experience

Essential Job Duties
  • Repairing nail pop and minor paint touchups
  • Trim replacement/repairs
  • Minor framing repairs
  • Window and door adjustments/repairs
  • Company vehicle issued for business use
  • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations by passing safety test and following all safety procedures; maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Communicate well with crew and foreman; follow directions provided by lead carpenter or foreman; and prioritize daily duties.
  • Measure, calculate, and mark cutting lines on materials accurately
  • Install structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
  • Use proper nailing procedures for all applications.
  • Use hand, pneumatic and other power tools
  • Finish, inspect and ensure work complies with quality standards and expectations.
  • Keep jobsite clean and safe.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Minimum education required — High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an apprenticeship program, certificate or degree program at vocational school or community college is a plus (e.g. Certificate of Achievement in Carpentry Technology, an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry-Building Trades or an Associate of Applied Science in Carpentry).
  • Minimum experience required — 3+ years carpentry experience in the commercial and/or residential sectors.
  • Knowledgeable of standard methods, practices, principles, tools, and equipment used in the carpentry trade and its associated occupational hazards.
  • Knowledgeable of the qualities, adaptability, and use of various woods and materials.
  • Basic knowledge of state codes and procedures including energy codes. Must have good work ethic, attitude and be reliable. Solid basic math skills are necessary.
  • Communicate, read, comprehend, and comply with company’s policies and procedures including safety and security. Understanding and commitment to a safe work environment in this safety sensitive position. Must be able to pass Safety test and follow all safety procedures.
  • Physical demands — Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Endure exposure to outdoor temperatures and weather conditions. Must be able to climb ladders, walk on roof deck and other heights. Bending or stooping regularly. Regularly lifting up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Available for overtime as needed.
