Job summary

McKinstry Co., LLC is seeking a Helpdesk Technician II to join the Information Technology team in Seattle, WA. You will support McKinstry employees with moderately complex hardware and software issues, assist less experienced staff, and escalate complex matters as needed.

Responsibilities include ticket handling, desktop repair, basic networking, cross‑functional collaboration, and excellent internal customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing PCs, tablets and laptops.
• Proficiency in operating systems and basic networking tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio).
• Strong customer service and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Help Desk tickets, determine root cause and resolve or escalate to Tier 2.
• Provision, maintain and repair IBM-compatible desktops and laptops.
• Perform basic account maintenance (add/moves/changes) and assist colleagues.
• Collaborate with other departments and provide excellent internal customer service.
• Communicate project status and gather client insights to drive improvements.

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Helpdesk Technician II to our Information Technology division in Seattle, WA. Provides support and assistance to McKinstry employees on moderately complex problems with Technology hardware and software. Supports less experienced team members to determine root cause, resolve issues and escalates complex matters as appropriate.

Technical Support

• Respond to all Help desk tickets assigned by Coordinator or otherwise, determine root cause, and resolve or escalates to Tier 2.
• Provision, maintain and repair IBM compatible desktop PCs (laptops and desktops).
• Performs simple network account maintenance (add/moves/changes).
• Work collaboratively with other departments in McKinstry.
• Provides support and assistance to McKinstry employees.

Inventory

• Maintains technology repair and spare parts inventory as necessary.

Cross-functional Relationships & Customer Satisfaction

• Provide excellent customer service and develop strong internal customer partnerships with key internal clients.

Communication

• Communicate with and coordinate McKinstry internal resources to meet project deliverables.
• Communicate with McKinstry clients as needed to achieve shared business objectives.
• Responsible for communication and sharing of information and best practices across team members.
• Helps gather client insight to drive process improvements.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:

• Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of an Technology Helpdesk Technician I.
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing PCs, tablets, peripheral devices, laptop computers and other mobile platforms required.
• Proficiency in operating systems required.
• Ability to use basic networking troubleshooting tools (ping, tracer, and nslookup) required.
• High school education or equivalent or equivalent work experience required.
• Two (2) years technical computer experience required.li>
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio preferred.
• Ability to research problems and evaluate solutions preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows Deployment Services preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows Software Updater Services preferred

The pay range for this position is $29.45 - $40.53 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. This role is consisdered non-exempt and will be paid hourly.
