Job summary

Horizon Health Services seeks a Help Desk Security Admin to monitor security tools, review network activity, and manage SIEM alerts across our healthcare IT environment.

Responsibilities include vulnerability testing, incident investigation, on-site support, and AD account administration, with 24x7 rotation involvement. Strong independence and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CIS, MIS, IT or related field is required.
  • One year of relevant work experience or certification is required.

As a Help Desk Security Admin at Horizon, you will…

  • Monitor and analyze security tools, events, and data across the organization’s infrastructure.
  • Review network traffic, security logs, and user activity to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal security policies.
  • Maintain and operate the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system, alerts and notifications.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on software, hardware, and networks.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation measures.
  • Test systems for compliance with established security policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Help Desk operations and serve as an escalation point for IT service requests.
  • Serve as the initial contact for security alerts and issues through the IT Service Request (Help Desk) portal, SIEM and alerting solutions.
  • Provide on-site technical support across all organizational locations.
  • Participate in 24x7 IT support rotations and monthly off-hours maintenance activities.
  • Administer user accounts in Active Directory and clinical applications based on defined procedures, including permission adjustments and account lifecycle management.
  • Assist in developing and delivering security awareness training for employees.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance the organization’s overall security posture.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee and patient information.
  • Manage IT projects, ensuring alignment with security standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Serve as a resource for IT projects assigned by senior IT management.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including user training materials, processes, and procedures.
  • Communicate timely updates to users regarding IT service requests and system maintenance.
  • Participate in disaster recovery operations and ensure readiness of recovery systems and protocols.

  • You must have one of the following: Relevant Certification(s) OR One Year of relevant work experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and ability to work within a team.
  • Has a valid Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to travel to different Horizon locations
Location:

This position is located at 55 Dodge Rd, Getzville NY 14068

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (flexible) during training period. After the training period is over, the schedule can move to a 4-day work week, 7:00am-5:30pm. Adjustable with Managers Decision.

Compensation:

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. This position starts at an hourly rate of $20.00 - $23.28. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:
  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting.
  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
