Job summary

The Rural Metro Fire Department is seeking a skilled Helicopter Pilot to provide medical air transportation services. This role emphasizes safety and involves working alongside medical experts to transport patients effectively.

The compensation includes a competitive salary range between $94,084 and $103,493, with the addition of a $15,000 sign-on bonus and various retention bonuses. Prospective candidates should possess a current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate and substantial flight experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate.
• Should possess a Helicopter instrument rating.
• Required to have a current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
• Total flight hours must be at least 2,000 hours.
• Must have 1,500 hours in helicopter operations.
• Need 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command in helicopters.
• Must have 1,000 turbine helicopter hours.
• Need 200 helicopter night flight hours, either aided or unaided.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of medical experts for safe transportation.
• Ensure aircraft readiness following FAR and Med-Trans requirements.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and record keeping.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch and flight crews.
• Provide shift change info as per protocol.
• Maintain required certifications and ongoing training.

Salary Range: $94,084 – $103,493 including 6% Geographic Modifier

15K Sign on Bonus Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

Responsibilities

• Working with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities.
• Ensure aircraft readiness as described in the appropriate manuals, including all FAR and Med-Trans requirements, and aircraft cleanliness duties.
• Maintain accurate Med-Trans and regulatory documentation and record keeping.
• Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners.
• Provide shift change info to successive pilot and team following protocol for recording Med-Trans change board details.
• Accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training.
