Wanted: Self-Motivated Experienced Avionics Technician!

Angelo Precision Aircraft is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician/Installer to join a growing team in maintaining, upgrading, and installing avionics systems in small general aviation aircraft. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, installations. Strong modern avionics experience—especially with Garmin—is essential.

  • Avionics Installation and Upgrades – Utilize all available data and install/upgrade avionics systems IAW the manufactures data and within the Regulations of the FAA.
  • Open and Close Aircraft – Open and close aircraft to allow the jobs to be completed.
  • Hands-On Troubleshooting & Repair – Diagnose and resolve avionics issues, perform routine and unscheduled maintenance, and ensure systems pass all required testing.
  • Cross Department Collaboration – Coordinate with other departments to support smooth workflow.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Follow all FAA and Repair Station requirements and ensure work is completed to regulatory standards.
  • Parts Coordination – Work with office staff to order parts and track progress for upcoming jobs.
  • Work well with others – Work with the team when required to complete

Job Requirements:
  • Avionics Experience – Must have experience with small general aviation aircraft (Cessna 150-208, Piper, Beechcraft including King Air, etc.) and modern-day avionics (Garmin required, other major manufacturers a plus).
  • Certification – FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is preferred. IA certification is also preferred.
  • Experience – Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades in small general aviation aircraft.
  • Technical Skills – Ability to read wiring diagrams, interpret manufacturer and FAA documentation, and quote projects ranging from basic repairs to full-system upgrades.
  • Work Conditions – Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a hangar environment without heating or air conditioning.
  • Documentation Interpretation – The manager must be able to read in English, and understand all manuals from the manufactures, FAA, and other documentation that is put out by manufactures.
  • Support – The Avionics Department is supported by a well staffed Maintenance Department which each department helps support each other.
