Job summary

Optima Aero USA Inc. in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a skilled Helicopter Dynamics/Component Overhaul Technician to inspect, disassemble, repair, overhaul, and reassemble helicopter components to meet safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of hands-on overhaul experience, strong knowledge of helicopter systems, and proficiency with diagnostic tools; A&P license preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential for flexible scheduling.

Location: Grand Prairie, Texas

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Helicopter Component Overhaul Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, disassembling, repairing, overhauling, and reassembling helicopter components to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the aviation industry, particularly with helicopter systems and components, and a strong attention to detail. Experience on Bell Helicopter Components is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Component Overhaul: Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble helicopter components such as engines, rotors, transmission systems, and landing gear.
• Inspection & Testing: Perform detailed inspections and functional tests on helicopter parts to detect defects or wear. Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to assess the condition of components.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspections, repairs, and parts used. Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations (FAA, EASA, etc.) and manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within helicopter components, applying appropriate repair or overhaul methods.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards with emphasis on compliance with the FAA for quality, safety, and performance.
• Inventory Management: Track parts and materials required for overhaul tasks, ensuring the timely ordering and availability of parts to prevent delays in the overhaul process.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and operational teams to ensure efficient and timely completion of overhaul tasks. Report any issues or potential problems promptly.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working as an overhaul technician with helicopters or rotary-wing aircraft.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of helicopter mechanical systems, avionics, electrical systems, and components.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in using specialized tools, diagnostic equipment, and overhaul procedures for helicopter components.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on precision, safety, and quality when working with high-value components.
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot and identify root causes of mechanical or electrical issues.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy components, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods as required by the job.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with specific helicopter models (Leonardo, Bell, Airbus).
• Additional certifications or training in avionics, hydraulics, or electrical systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant quality management systems.
• A&P License is preferred.

Working Conditions:

• This is a full-time, on-site position.
