Job summary

TrueNorth Steel in West Fargo, ND seeks a Helical Operator to operate spiral mill and related equipment to produce corrugated steel pipe per drawings and specs. You will manage tooling changes, set machine gauges, use welding equipment, and maintain daily production records.

The role requires basic reading, mechanical aptitude, blueprint knowledge, and the ability to work in varied weather. Overtime and weekends may be required; a full benefits package is included.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
• Change tooling corrugations according to print.

• Know how to operate overhead crane for moving coils.
• Assist with scheduled/unscheduled repairs.
• Use wire feed and arc welding equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily production reports.
• Poly recoating of poly-coated products.
• Perform QC inspections as trained by QA.
• Communicate non-conformance and corrective actions to QA or supervisor.
• Work in adverse weather conditions.
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
• Attend to attendance requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION: Helical Operator

SHIFT: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (OT Friday if needed)

PAY RATE: $22.44 - $25+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package

LOCATION: West Fargo, ND

Summary Of Responsibilities

Employee is responsible for various types of spiral mill machine operation, including recurrugator machines, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture corrugated steel pipe to customer drawings, specifications or other forms of instruction.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and quality requirements
• Ability to change tooling corrugations according to print.
• Ability to set machine for different gages.
• Knowledge of overhead crane used to move coils.
• Assist with all scheduled/unscheduled repairs.
• Use of wire feed and arc welding equipment.
• Maintain accurate daily production reports
• Assist with all scheduled/unscheduled repairs.
• Poly recoating of poly coated products
• Quality Control (QC) inspections as trained by the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager or Quality Supervisor
• Communicate non-conformance and/or corrective action details to the QA Manager or Quality Supervisor directly or through immediate supervisor
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain and wind).
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in stick, and wire feed welding and plasma and oxyacetylene cutting.
