Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Printing Press Operator in Bolingbrook, IL to set up, operate, and maintain Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses for folding carton packaging. The role requires strong knowledge of offset printing, color management, and press troubleshooting in a packaging or commercial printing environment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of press experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read production tickets and document data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of printing press experience in packaging, printing, or converting required.
• Experience operating Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• Knowledge of press setup, registration, color matching, and print quality required.
• Ability to read and interpret production job tickets required.
• Experience documenting production data and material usage required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail; English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses.
• Perform complete press make-readies and job changeovers.
• Adjust ink, coatings, registration, and press settings to meet customer specifications.
• Review job tickets, proofs, and color standards prior to production.
• Monitor print quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Verify board grade, sheet size, thickness, and grain direction.
• Ensure non-conforming products are identified, segregated, and documented.
• Supervise and coordinate work with press staff.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on press equipment.
• Record production data, material usage, and job information in Amtech and production documentation.
• Maintain clean and organized work area; follow safety procedures.
• Support inventory and continuous improvement initiatives.

• 24/6 Production Schedule
• Overtime and weekends as needed based on production demands

Role Summary

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Heidelberg sheetfed printing presses
• Perform complete press make-readies and job changeovers
• Adjust ink, coatings, registration, and press settings to meet customer specifications
• Review job tickets, proofs, and color standards prior to production
• Monitor print quality throughout production and make necessary adjustments
• Verify board grade, sheet size, thickness, and grain direction
• Ensure non-conforming products are identified, segregated, and documented
• Supervise and coordinate work with the Press Feeder and Aerator Operator
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and minor repairs on press equipment
• Record production data, material usage, and job information in Amtech and production documentation
• Maintain housekeeping standards and keep work area clean and organized
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, GMP, PPE, and Lockout/Tagout procedures
• Support inventory activities and continuous improvement initiatives as needed
