Job summary

The D. E. Shaw Group seeks a proactive, analytical professional to help build the Hedge Fund Portfolio Strategy function within Thought Leadership, coordinating with IR and investment teams to produce investor-facing content on performance and markets.

You will draft hedge fund strategy summaries, educate on investment topics, manage reviews of white papers, market deep dives, and speaking materials, and help scale the necessary infrastructure as the function grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher; 2–5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven research, editing and project management skills.
• Experience generating investment content for financial markets or IR roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex concepts.
• Comfort working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building a new function to support capital raising and retention.
• Source strategy- and portfolio-level insights with IR and research teams.
• Develop hedge fund strategy summaries and evergreen investor content.
• Draft and review white papers, market deep dives, and conference materials.
• Field and deliver bespoke content requests.
• Help develop scalable infrastructure for the function.
