Hillel Day School of Metro Detroit is seeking a passionate, creative, and skilled Hebrew teacher (part-time) to join our dynamic team for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator who loves working with children, embraces Jewish values, and is excited about creating an engaging, immersive Hebrew language environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Hebrew language classes (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to middle school students
  • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with ACTFL standards
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Foster a classroom culture that promotes respect, curiosity, and a love of the Hebrew language

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in Hebrew
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably in a Jewish day school or immersion setting
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Familiarity with current language instruction methodologies and technologies
