Job summary

Jerry's Towing & Recovery, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a skilled Heavy Truck Mechanic to diagnose and repair complex vehicle systems in a busy shop environment.

You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring safety and reliability for each vehicle. In addition to diagnosing and repairing vehicles, you will carry out routine maintenance, prepare cost estimates, and communicate clearly with customers while maintaining accurate shop records and promoting high levels

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred.
• ASE certification or SAE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicles coming into the shop
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
• Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
• Create repair estimates and timelines and convey information to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
• Maintain accurate repair shop records and paperwork
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business
