Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Hudson, IL is seeking a Truck Mechanic responsible for outfitting trucks, assembling hydraulic, electrical and mechanical components, and performing comprehensive diagnostics and function checks.

You will conduct PMs, repair and calibrate systems, mentor junior staff, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while adhering to OSHA standards. Previous heavy truck experience required.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ relevant experience in heavy truck repair or heavy equipment repair.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in diagnostics and calibration work.
• Experience with diagnostic software is preferred.
• Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform PDI checks and settings on truck chassis and heavy equipment.
• Install mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment on trucks and heavy equipment.
• Full functionally checks on equipment installed.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair issues that arise during functionality checks.
• Diagnose and repair all mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems (disassembly, assembly, and repair).
• Observe and listen to vehicle operations, obtain diagnostic information, identify root causes, plan work procedures, and perform necessary repairs on vehicles.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (such as fluid and various filter changes, testing of batteries, adjustments to brake system, and lubricating moving parts of equipment).
• Perform advanced mechanical work (engine or transmission diagnosis/repair/replacement).
• Maintain a clean work area, adhere to safety rules, mentor other assemblers/mechanics.
