Job summary

WAYNE CARMINT LANDSCAPING INC. in Alaska seeks a Truck and Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and suspension on our heavy equipment.

The role covers diagnostics with schematics, fabrication tasks, welding, and keeping accurate service records and parts inventory. CDL might help; state inspection license is a plus. Join a skilled team dedicated to reliable, safe fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on diesel engine repair.
• Experience in heavy truck and equipment repair, including brakes, alignment, shocks/struts.
• CDL A or B preferred; PA State Inspection license is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension.
• Routine maintenance on heavy equipment including trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, screeners.
• Use schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform diagnostics.
• Perform fabrication as needed to improve equipment functionality.
• Operate hand and power tools, welding safely and effectively.
• Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely completion of service requests.

What you’ll do

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and suspension systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment including triaxle dump trucks, excavators, loaders, dozers, screeners
• Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics.
• Execute fabrication tasks as needed to enhance equipment functionality.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests.

Basic qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experience in diesel engine repair.
• Proficiency in heavy truck and equipment repair techniques including brake repair, alignment, shocks & struts.
• Additional Pay incentives for a CDL (A or B),
• PA State Inspection License (highly desired).
