Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Heavy Assembler I in Kenosha, WI. The role involves hands-on mechanical assembly of large industrial radiators and components, using hand/power tools, and working at heights with ladders, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes to move heavy parts.

You will read blueprints, perform leak testing, and collaborate with a small team to meet production goals in a non-temperature-controlled shop environment on 2nd shift. The position is contract to hire and onsite in Kenosha.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience.
• At least 1 year of experience using power tools in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read and measure with a tape measure.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for mechanical assembly.
• Experience operating or working around overhead cranes.
• Demonstrated work tenure of at least 18 months with one employer in the past 5 years.
• Comfort working at heights on ladders or scissor lifts.
• Ability to lift/move heavy materials as part of daily tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, including leak testing.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts and radiators in teams per specs and blueprints.
• Use hand and power tools to secure components safely.
• Read blueprints and assembly docs to guide builds.
• Access at-height areas on ladders/scissor lifts as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes to move heavy parts safely.
• Perform leak tests to verify quality and performance.
• Work across multiple assembly areas to meet production needs.
• Measure materials accurately to ensure proper fit and alignment.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Assembly Supervisor to meet production goals.
