Dempsey Uniform is seeking a Soiled Laundry Sorter to join our laundry team in Lackawanna County. You will sort damaged or soiled items, ensuring correct categorization for cleaning and processing, with attention to detail, speed, and physical stamina.

The role involves early morning shifts (6am–4:30am) four days per week, operating sorting equipment, and maintaining safety standards. Opportunities for advancement exist with a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Reliable and consistent work performance.
• Dependable transportation to ensure attendance.
• Strong work ethic with consistent attendance.
• Experience in fast-paced environments such as production or retail.

• Physical demands: stand up to 10 hours, lift at least 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled garments and linens by color, fabric type, and laundering requirements.
• Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage, separating those needing special treatment or repairs.
• Operate sorting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare and transfer counted soil items through the industrial washing and drying process.
• Maintain a clean and organized sorting area at all times.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed to support the laundry process.
• Perform all duties safely and in compliance with OSHA standards and company directives.
• Promptly report any unsafe conditions or practices to management.
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned to support the laundry process.
