The City of Attleboro is seeking a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator/Laborer for the Department of Public Works. The role involves operating heavy equipment with a rated capacity up to 9 tons used in road maintenance and construction, including tractors, road sweepers, snow loaders, leaf loaders, snow fighters, sidewalk rollers, and road flushers.
Responsibilities include operating trucks with a capacity of over 3 tons up to 9 tons, large tractors, and other equipment. Duties also involve plowing and sanding highways, performing manual labor tasks such as mowing, cleaning culverts, loading trucks, spreading materials, patching surfaces, digging, setting posts, repairing signs, and snow removal. Maintenance tasks like washing and minor repairs are also required.
Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, two years of manual work and heavy equipment operation experience, and a valid CDL B license with airbrakes endorsement.
This is a 40-hour per week position, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with hours subject to change during inclement weather.
