Job summary

Air Mobility Command at McGuire AFB, New Jersey, seeks a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain loaders, cranes, and other heavy equipment. You will use diagnostic tools, order parts, document work, and train others.

• Heavy equipment and automotive maintenance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs heavy mobile equipment mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining equipment including, but not limited to, 25K and 60K pound capacity aircraft platform loading deck cargo loaders, 50K pound capacity container handlers, bulldozers, power shovels, road graders, mobile cranes, and other material handling and construction equipment.
• Performs automotive mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining vehicles including forklifts, tow tractors, truck tractors and trailers, sweeper trucks, wreckers, buses, vans, ambulances, pickup trucks, sedans, and hybrid vehicles.
• Uses diagnostic tools, orders parts, completes documentation, and provides training and assistance to others.
• Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
