SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee’s Department of Public Works – Highway Division is hiring a Heavy MEO/Laborer who will operate and maintain any type of heavy equipment/vehicles owned by the City of Chicopee. Maintains fluid levels and greases equipment as required. Must be available for overtime during weather emergencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Services equipment as required.
• Operates road patcher.
• Performs snow removal operations.
• Performs laboring/maintenance duties as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties assigned by supervisors.
• Must be available for overtime during weather emergencies.
• Abide by City of Chicopee Health and Safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Massachusetts Class A CDL License – Required
• Massachusetts Hoisting License Grade 2A - Required
• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED);
• Or one (1) year of related experience and/or training in operating heavy motor equipment.
