## Heavy Materials Equipment OperatorApply: Atlanta, GA: Full time: Posted Today: R-100204**Job Description:**We are looking for hard-working, reliable and safety minded individuals to join our team as a Heavy Equipment Operator. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient Operates a hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing operations also to load and unload containers and trailers and lift and move scrap metal of varying sizes and weights around the work area.This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.**Job Duties****Including, but not limited to:** · Unload and load trucks hauling scrap.Operate a hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing.· Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.· Perform daily operation and safety inspection. · Communicates with office and truck drivers to determine commodities to load. · Works independently when processing scrap metal.· Works with customers to satisfy their needs and assist them when problems arise.· Work with other employees in the scrap metal yard to ensure a safe working environment.· Feed the shredder, balers, and shears scrap for processing· Perform normal daily operation maintenance refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping· Clean up work area at the end of shift· Keep work areas neat and orderly· Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions· Organizing materials to have more effective use of space· Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner· Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed· Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.**Qualifications**· Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are \"grandfathered\" into their positions.· Must pass a medical physical and drug test· Must pass a background check· Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable· Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus· Ability to: communicate with others effectively; understand direction (written or oral) and use basic math skills as the job demands· Previous experience operating a Material Handler a plus**Job Expectations**Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, & SA Recycling safety, health, & environmental rules, regulations, policies, & procedures.**Physical Requirements**· **Work Environment:** Scrap metal Recycling yard· **Equipment & Tools:** Material handler, mechanics tools,· **Physical Demand Level:** Light to Moderate, keeps steady when machine in rocking in all directions · **Work Capacity:** Lifting & carrying 35lb loads, head turning, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders and sitting for long periods.· **Sensory Demands:** Hearing, vision, touch, smell and taste· **Hand Movements:** Repetitive motions, grippingSA Recycling is an equal opportunity employer.
