Position Title: Heavy Lifting General Labor Associate Wage: $17.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday QPS Employment is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented General Laborer to support daily production operations. This role provides backup support to equipment operators by following established process instructions and work orders to ensure customer parts are processed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This is a potential to hire opportunity in Waterloo, IA.
Heavy Lifting General Labor Associate Responsibilities
- Provide backup support to equipment operators as needed
- Carefully follow process instructions, work orders, and quality standards
- Fixture, mask, clean, load, and unload customer parts
- Prepare parts for processing while ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Inspect parts for quality and report any issues to supervisors
- Assist with general production tasks to support workflow and meet production schedules
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Heavy Lifting General Labor Associate Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Manufacturing or production experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment around hot processing equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach throughout the day
- Ability to use hands and arms for repetitive tasks, including handling, gripping, and manipulating parts and tools
- Ability to load, unload, and position customer parts on fixtures safely and efficiently
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to maintain visual attention to detail when inspecting parts and following work instructions
- Ability to safely operate around industrial equipment and machinery while following all safety procedures
