Job summary

The Manitowoc Company is seeking a Heavy Lift Equipment Commissioning & Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and commission Manitowoc Group products on diverse jobsites.

This role requires up to 75% travel domestically and internationally; you will collaborate with distributors and Product Service Managers, interpret technical drawings, and strengthen expertise across electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems while maintaining safety and quality standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus 2+ years of mechanical/electrical experience; or a technical degree plus 1+ year of related experience.
  • Technical service background; computer proficiency; ability to read and interpret technical drawings; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness and ability to learn to work with 480V electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist distributors and customers in rigging, diagnosing, and repairing Manitowoc Crane Group products.
  • Safely support crane assembly and startup on diverse jobsites.
  • Coordinate and execute investigations into customer-reported technical problems; implement corrective processes to avoid future issues.

Heavy Lift Equipment Commissioning & Service TechnicianIs this you?Do you thrive on solving complex electrical and hydraulic challenges on heavy equipment?Are you excited by new-model commissioning, technical training, and hands-on troubleshooting?Can you travel up to 75%—domestically and abroad—to support customers where they operate?Role snapshotAssist distributors and customers in rigging, diagnosing, and repairing Manitowoc Crane Group products.Safely support crane assembly and startup on diverse jobsites.Partner with Product Service Managers and distributors on setup, maintenance, and continued technical training for new models.Coordinate and execute investigations into customer-reported technical problems; implement corrective processes to avoid future issues.Provide advanced troubleshooting beyond local distributor or customer capabilities.Collaborate with MCG teams on service materials, product requirements, availability, and code compliance.Analyze problem reports to identify trends impacting design, production, service, and maintenance; recommend improvements.Complete detailed service documentation, timecards, and expense reports.Uphold a professional image and act with integrity as the company’s representative.Where you’ll workLocation: Manitowoc, WI.
