Job Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, and move inventory using heavy capacity fork trucks according to work orders and supervisor directives.
- Operate fork trucks to lift, move, and position steel and heavy materials to designated stock areas.
- Load and unload trailers and railroad cars.
- Drive and operate fork trucks in various conditions and spaces.
- Log and report inventory location changes via inventory computer system and/or paperwork.
- Assemble customer orders based on work orders.
- Record relevant material information on work orders and other forms as required by management.
- Maintain accuracy within precise limits and standards.
- Coordinate with multiple warehouse areas and coworkers to complete tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, prioritizing safety for oneself and others.
- Proactively seek out work and complete assigned tasks with initiative.
- Work as a team player with a positive attitude and respect for workplace culture.
- Maintain dependable and punctual attendance.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed based on business requirements.
- Perform other warehouse or related tasks as assigned, including special projects.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including reading and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with heavy capacity fork trucks, material handling, and working with steel is preferred.
