Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day heavy haul operations, ensuring alignment with SOPs and service standards.
• Supervise team workload, productivity, and performance metrics.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support retention and growth.
• Manage scheduling, time-off requests, and payroll approvals.
• Partner with leadership on project pricing and RFQs to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
• Identify operational risks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily operations for oversized and overweight (OS/OW) transportation projects. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and leading a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused heavy haul solutions.

You will play a key role in optimizing processes, supporting cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Lead day-to-day heavy haul operations, ensuring alignment with SOPs and service standards
• Supervise team workload, productivity, and performance metrics
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support retention and growth
• Manage scheduling, time-off requests, and payroll approvals

Operational Oversight

• Partner with leadership on project pricing and RFQs to ensure feasibility and accuracy
• Identify operational risks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes
• Foster strong communication across operations, sales, and billing teams
• Balance priorities to meet deadlines and maintain service quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in heavy haul, specialized transportation, or 3PL operations
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of OS/OW logistics, routing, permitting, and equipment
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and industry best practices
• Proven experience managing complex logistics projects
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• PMP, Six Sigma, or similar certification
• Prior CDL-A experience (a plus, not required)
