Job summary

ATS Welding LLC is seeking a Heavy Haul Driver to execute end-to-end transportation of oversized and overweight loads in Ogden, Utah. The role requires expert guidance on safety, load securement, and efficient route planning to ensure zero incidents on high-value cargo.

Responsibilities include operating heavy haul trucks and trailers, securing loads, obtaining permits, coordinating with dispatch and escorts, and performing rigorous pre/post-trip inspections.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL and pass a background check, clean MVR and drug test.
• 3–4 years of heavy-haul experience required; pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Safe Transportation: Safely operate heavy haul trucks and attached trailers while adhering to all DOT regulations.
• Load Securement: Load, bind, and inspect equipment using chains, binders, and straps to prevent shifting during transit.
• Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes to account for bridge clearances, weight limits, and state-specific restrictions.
• Compliance & Permits: Obtain and follow all necessary permits for oversize/overweight loads and maintain accurate records.
• Team Coordination: Work closely with dispatchers, pilot car drivers, and law enforcement escorts to ensure safe passage of "super loads".
• Inspections: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure mechanical integrity and safety compliance.

This is a high-visibility, technical role responsible for the end-to-end execution of transportation projects that exceed standard legal size and weight limits. You will serve as the primary expert on-site, ensuring that high-value, oversized assets are moved with absolute precision and zero incidents.

• Load Securement: Expertly load, bind, and inspect equipment using chains, binders, and straps to prevent shifting during transit.
• Route Planning: Plan and adjust routes to account for bridge clearances, weight limits, and state-specific restrictions.
• Compliance & Permits: Obtain and follow all necessary permits for oversize/overweight loads and maintain accurate records.
