Job summary

Schuff Steel in Kansas is seeking a skilled fabrication operator for non-CNC equipment, including saw, punch, shear, beam splitter and threader. You will read blueprints, load materials, and assist with overhead cranes and forklifts on daily tasks to keep production moving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related vocational training may substitute.
• Experience reading safety rules and maintenance manuals is preferred.
• Ability to operate non-CNC fabrication equipment and handle materials safely.

Responsibilities

• Layout, read, interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Operate non-CNC fabrication machinery per company requirements.
• Load/unload material manually and with overhead crane or magnet.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on machines.
• Troubleshoot and mark materials; clean machines daily.
• Locate parts and supplies for machine operation.
• Keep work area organized and safe, adhering to PPE rules.
