Job summary
Crux Subsurface, a Quanta Services company, is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to fabricate and repair drilling rigs and heavy geotechnical equipment in a shop setting. You will work with MIG and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, perform plasma cutting, and assist with hydraulic system maintenance across projects nationwide.
The role emphasizes precise fabrication, adherence to weld symbols, and safe operation of shop equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year fabrication experience in a professional shop setting.
- Proficiency in GMAW and FCAW of mild steel.
- Ability to produce welds that are structural and aesthetically clean.
- Basic mechanical background.
- Blueprint reading including weld symbols.
- Own basic mechanic tools and PPE.
- Must read a tape measure accurately.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld mild steel and alloys; TIG and MIG weld aluminum.
- Plasma and gas cutting of metals.
- Operate abrasive cabinet and wash bay.
- Fabricate and repair components for drilling rigs and heavy geotechnical equipment.
- Assist mechanics on hydraulic system maintenance and repair.
- Read and interpret blueprints including weld symbols.
