Job summary

HOLT CAT in Waco, TX seeks an entry-level Haul Truck Driver to operate heavy day cab trucks and multi-axle trailers, delivering machinery and equipment to branch stores and customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, DOT logs, and on-time, accurate shipments.

Key duties include securing loads, completing inspections, and maintaining the vehicle and paperwork to meet regulatory requirements. Travel up to 100% and onsite work are expected.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of industrial engine, transportation, and safe driving procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations/DOT guidelines.
• Proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Transports all parts and small equipment deliveries in a positive, caring manner while striving for promptness, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Secures equipment and cargo onto truck and ensure that materials meet state and federal guidelines for safe transport and vehicle capabilities.
• Completes DOT required drivers daily log accurately and without misrepresentation.
• Completes driver's daily inspection report, making recommendations for repair or maintenance, and keeps vehicle clean.
• Submits all related documentation to maintain business systems and achieve goals (rental agreements, check in/out, receipts, permits).
• Ensures resources are maintained in clean, safe condition for customer satisfaction.
• Performs pre- and post- vehicle inspection; inspects truck for defects and safe operating condition.
