Job summary

Komatsu East is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician (Shop) in Hatfield, PA. This full-time, in-shop role requires diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment, engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, with a focus on accuracy and safety.

The position offers first shift hours, Monday–Friday, onsite pay of $40.83 per hour, and opportunities for training and advancement within a large OEM dealership network.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair
  • Diagnostics and repair of heavy equipment (construction, mining, material handling, paving, milling)
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical/electronic systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and industry software
  • Ability to read/write English and document repair details clearly

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment in the shop
  • Perform major engine and component overhauls or replacements as required
  • Operate heavy equipment and document service notes for work orders

Position Qualifications

Successful candidates for a Class 2 Mechanic in our Shop should have 5 plus years of experience in the heavy equipment repair industry, including but not limited to:

  • Diagnostic and repair experience with heavy equipment (construction, mining, material handling, paving, milling, etc.)
  • Ability to participate in major repair, rebuild, or replace engines and other major components
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, etc. systems
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft products as well as industry software
  • Ability to read and write the English language
  • Ability to convey repair details in clear and accurate service notes for assigned work orders
  • Operation of heavy equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Work Environment

As a Mechanic Or Technician With Komatsu East, The Physically Demanding Work Is Performed In Industrial Environments And Includes Exposure To Significant Environmental Conditions, Including But Not Limited To

  • Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
  • Working at heights
  • Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, bending, and crouching
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds
  • Hand/eye and motor coordination
  • Work overtime as needed
  • The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold, odors, hazards, and atmospheric exposures
