Job summary

NAES is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Heavy Equipment to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on mining heavy equipment. You will assist senior technicians, gain exposure to CAT and Komatsu equipment, and progressively qualify as a full technician through hands-on training.

You will work with Operations to ensure equipment availability, follow safety rules, and document activities. A high school diploma and a valid U.S. driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals/diagrams.
• Willingness to learn diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Experience with diesel engines or heavy equipment preferred, CAT/Komatsu exposure a plus.
• Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, lubrication, and basic repairs on heavy equipment and related mechanical systems.
• Assist experienced technicians with troubleshooting and repairing engines, transmissions, torque converters, axles, differentials, and electrical control systems on CAT and Komatsu equipment.
• Support disassembly, assembly, adjustment, and alignment activities per procedures.
• Apply basic fabrication techniques under supervision.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment data in the maintenance system.
• Coordinate with Operations to support equipment availability and production needs.
