Tractor & Equipment Co. in Great Falls, MT is hiring a Heavy Equipment Service Technician to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, including engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.

You will use CAT diagnostic tools and perform rigging and blocking as needed. We value technicians with CAT dealership experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to stand for long periods and manage job costs.

Qualifications

• 2-4 year vocational/technical school or equivalent experience required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to operate forklift and hydraulic/mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers safely.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook).
• CAT dealership experience or CAT product familiarity preferred.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and complete paperwork efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Use CAT diagnostic equipment and repair tooling.
• Rig and block equipment as needed during servicing.
• Plan and organize work to control job costs and complete tasks efficiently.

Become a member of our winning team! We have opportunities asHeavy Equipment Service Technician in our Great Falls, MT Branch. Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting?

Hourly Pay Range: $29.95-45.00 (Based on skills and experience).

Essential Duties:

• This is a key role in our company in which our technicians are responsible for diagnosing and repairing of Caterpillar equipment including removing, repairing, assembling and installing.
• We have an opportunity for you diagnose and troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• You will need to have experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging and blocking equipment.
• This position requires planning and organizing skills with a particular emphasis on controlling job costs.
• You will need to investigate, analyze and identify problem in order to make recommendations for eliminating the problem.

Education Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A graduate of a 2-4 year vocational technical school training institution or equivalent experience is required.
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to operate a forklift and other equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, pressure washers in a safe manner.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
• This role requires the ability to stand up to eight hours per day and includes twisting, bending, squatting, sitting stooping and kneeling. Efficiency in completing paperwork.
