Job Description

We're seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team at Superior Construction! If you have experience operating machinery and a passion for working on impactful projects, apply today.

Depending on your personal goals, Superior Construction will provide you the ability to learn additional skills and advancement, through on-the-job training and external education outlets.

Essential Functions

  1. Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure company equipment and materials are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  3. Check filters and grease equipment.
  4. Observe the distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
  5. Keep work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials.
  6. Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers.
  7. Properly follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and the environment.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role. Employees will be working on heavy civil and highway construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods, and performs physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multilimbed coordination. The employee must have excellent stamina.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This position will occasionally require long hours and weekend work.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment.
  2. Must be reliable/have reliable transportation.
  3. 2-4 Years of Operating Experience Preferred.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  1. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license before employment.
