Job summary

Alter Trading in Greeley, CO seeks a Full Time Production operator to operate material handler and heavy equipment, unloading/loading trucks and sorting material in the yard. You will ensure loads meet yard standards and assist with basic maintenance. Training provided for those with prior heavy machinery or semi-tractor experience.

Must lift 30–50 lbs and occasionally 100+ lbs with a two-person lift. High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery and driving a semi-tractor/trailer is preferred but not required as training is provided.
• Basic machine maintenance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unloads customer vehicles including small or medium trucks or semi-trailers
• Sorts material in appropriate areas
• Loads trucks and rail cars with scrap material
• Ensures yard materials are available for torching
• Inspects loads according to yard standards for safe departure
• Inspects inbound/outbound material
• Greases and changes oil on machinery; performs minor maintenance on crane
• Some hand sorting and labor may be required
• Other responsibilities as assigned
