Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator - Williamsburg

Department: Grading

Reports to: Project Superintendent

Major Role and Purpose

• Operates heavy industrial equipment such as dozers, excavators, backhoes, or other grading or excavating equipment to move and level materials like dirt and gravel.

Description of Duties

• Monitors site activity.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Operates heavy industrial equipment.
• Spreads dirt in fill areas.
• Clears and grub areas being worked on.
• Performs fine and rough grade operations.
• Runs fill areas.
• Reads slope stakes.
• Cuts slopes to specifications (slope type, ditch depths, fill section heights).
• Directs trucks and equipment for loading, stockpiling, or spreading materials.
• Dresses and cleans up the site upon completion.
• Performs routine maintenance like watering, oiling, greasing, and adjusting equipment.
• Operates equipment safely and consistently.
• Willing to work nights and weekends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 3-5 years of experience operating various heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Understanding of GPS grade control.
• Knowledge of grading techniques.
