Job description

Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Reports to:

We have won multiple safety awards and the 2021 Leading Environmental Practices award from the Association of Washington Businesses. Founded in 1999, DTG Recycle is the largest recycler of commercial, industrial, construction, and demolition materials in the Pacific Northwest.

Weekend Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
12-hour shifts

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections at the beginning and end of the shift.
  • Operate front-end loader and/or excavator safely and proficiently.
  • Perform light maintenance on equipment.
  • Siz large steel and concrete for further processing in our recycling operations.
  • Visually screen construction and demolition debris for unacceptable materials.
  • Identify unacceptable material on incoming loads.
  • Communicate effectively with truck drivers regarding offloading locations.
  • Direct inbound loads to the tipping floor.
  • Assist co-workers with heavy items.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of the facility and general housekeeping.
  • Be available to work occasional Saturdays.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience operating excavators or front-end loaders.
  • Clean driving record and background.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift, bend, stoop, climb, etc., for extended periods.
  • Work outdoors under various weather conditions.
