Heavy Equipment Operator - Wake County, NC

Job Overview

Caton Construction Group, with offices in Troy, VA, and Cary, NC, is seeking qualified Equipment Operators for our bridge and roadway project in Wake County, North Carolina. We are particularly interested in experienced Bulldozer and Excavator Operators.

Compensation

Starting pay is competitive and based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and assist in moving and grading dirt, digging ditches and trenches, hoisting materials, tools, and equipment using bulldozers, backhoes, road graders, or front-end loaders.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; report defects or repairs to the supervisor.
  • Follow all safety and security standards in all duties.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, primarily Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with potential for overtime, long hours, and weekend work. Travel may be required, including overnight stays.

Travel and Licensing

Local travel is typical; some out-of-area and overnight travel may occur. A valid driver’s license is required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years’ experience operating medium and heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid CDL License.
