Job summary

Indigo Construction is seeking reliable and skilled Operators using heavy equipment to support utility installation and site development projects across residential, commercial, and public infrastructure jobsites in San Antonio, TX.

This on-site role involves operating various types of heavy equipment—including excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders—to perform trenching, grading, material handling, and site prep in coordination with utility and pipelaying crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction or utility settings.
• Experience with grade lasers, GPS, or machine control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (excavator, backhoe, skid steer, loader) safely to support trenching, grading, and earth-moving operations.
• Dig and backfill trenches for underground utilities installation (water, sewer, storm drain).
• Identify and protect existing underground utilities and structures while excavating.
• Maintain OSHA trench safety standards through proper benching, sloping, or shoring.
