Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support a mining client in a fast-paced production environment. The traveling role requires safe operation of diverse mobile equipment and strict adherence to MSHA regulations.

Responsibilities include equipment inspections, documentation, reporting hazards, and assisting with site tasks to meet daily production targets. Candidates should have prior mining or heavy industrial experience and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in mining, quarry, construction or similar environments.
• Ability to safely operate haul trucks, loaders, excavators or dozers.
• MSHA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong understanding of equipment safety protocols and hazard awareness.
• Ability to work in varying weather and site conditions.

• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and complete required documentation.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions promptly.

• Work closely with supervisors, dispatch, and other team members to meet daily production targets.
• Maintain clean and orderly equipment cabs and work areas.
• Assist with general mine site tasks as needed to support operations.

Position Summary

The traveling Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating a variety of mobile heavy equipment used in mining operations. Equipment may include haul trucks, loaders, excavators, water trucks, dozers, graders, and other production support machinery. Operators play a critical role in maintaining production goals while adhering to strict safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy mobile equipment in a safe, efficient, and productive manner
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and complete required documentation
• Identify and report mechanical issues or unsafe conditions promptly
• Follow mine site safety procedures, policies, and MSHA regulations at all times

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to climb in and out of heavy equipment multiple times per shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Must be able to work in dusty, rugged outdoor environments
