Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate yellow iron equipment at the Lenox transfer station in Massachusetts.

The position includes daily opening/closing duties, coordinating truck dumping, and ensuring a clean, safe facility in alignment with production schedules. You will work with the Operations team, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in ongoing training to support Casella’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years of heavy equipment operation preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a team and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the facility according to hours.
• Oversee truck scheduling for dumping and trailer switching.
• Maintain cleanliness of the transfer station as directed.
• Ensure customers use the facility according to safety rules.
• Meet loading schedules to keep production on track.
• Direct incoming trucks to unloading areas safely.
• Perform safety checks and report any equipment issues.
• Participate in training and company initiatives.
