Qualifications

• High school diploma required with at least five years of field operator experience.
• Active membership in the Operating Engineers Union preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Train new operators to develop and improve equipment operation skills.
• Mentor experienced operators to keep skills up-to-date and aware of new techniques.
• Foster good relationships with operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management for effective communication.
• Provide management recommendations on operator placement for optimal fit and benefits.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure operators understand proper equipment processes and report deficiencies.
• Monitor equipment use to ensure operation within rated capacities.
• Maintain relationships with Local Unions, trade schools, and community to recruit qualified operators.
