Job description

Upstate Companies is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator

Join our team! Compensation will be based on experience. We offer Trust (Prevailing Wage Work), a 401K plan with employer matching, and health benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. At least 5 years of experience
  2. Experience operating excavators, dozers, and loaders
  3. 3-5 years of underground utility experience preferred
  4. Site grading and layout skills
  5. Trimble GPS experience a plus
  6. Valid state driver's license
  7. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
  8. Ability to work well in a team environment with co-workers and managers
  9. Self-motivated and flexible, able to work extended or unusual hours as needed
  10. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
  11. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for oneself and others
  12. Effective communication using eye contact, hand signals, or other movements when working with co-workers
  13. Adherence to all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations
  14. Ability to follow directions from the Foreman regarding daily tasks and project expectations
  15. Perform minor equipment servicing and maintenance
  16. Perform general labor duties as required
  17. Ability to work in all weather conditions
  18. Willingness to work overtime
  19. Ability to listen, understand, and follow instructions
  20. Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments
  21. Ability to work with diverse personalities
  22. Perform other duties as assigned
Certifications:
  • OSHA 10
  • CDL (desired, but not mandatory)
