Job summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking a skilled heavy-duty vehicle operator to operate earthmoving and roadbuilding equipment. A valid CDL Class A with at least one year of experience is required; alternatively, a Class B CDL with two years of experience will be considered.

Work is performed under the supervision of a crew chief or supervisor on municipal projects. Responsibilities include operating diverse equipment, coordinating with the team, and performing supporting labor when not driving.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Class A CDL and one year of experience operating a vehicle or equipment requiring a Class A CDL.
• OR possession of a valid Class B CDL and two years of experience operating a vehicle or equipment requiring a Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operate skilled heavy-duty vehicles and equipment such as earthmoving and roadbuilding machines.
• Work under supervision of crew chief or supervisor and coordinate with team.
• Perform light or heavy physical tasks when not operating equipment or driving to work sites.
