Job summary

The City of McMinnville is seeking an energetic Heavy Equipment Operator for the Sanitation Department. The role involves operating a range of heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, and refuse collection trucks, on maintenance and construction tasks. CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months is required, with at least one year of experience and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Starting pay is $20.91/hour without CDL and $21.54/hour with CDL. Hours are 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• HS degree or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• One year of experience in the operation of heavy equipment.
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment including front-end loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, and related vehicles.
• Drives and operates a heavy load hydraulic refuse collection truck.
• Assists in loading trucks and covering assigned area or route.
• Performs routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
• Loads/unloads trucks with lifting of 50–75 lbs.
• Maintains schedules for garbage and trash pickup and transport to disposal area.
