Basic Job Functions include upholding safety policies, operating heavy equipment, coordinating with team by radio for traffic and production, performing daily inspections, and assisting in unloading materials.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heavy equipment safety and operating principles.
• Ability to operate equipment under varying working conditions.
• Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain dependable attendance.
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions with heavy equipment.
• Ability to coordinate work activities as a team.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Operate mobile heavy equipment (mobile shear, grapple, magnet material handlers).
• Communicate via radio with team for traffic coordination, production, and safety.
• Perform daily inspections on equipment and report defects.
• Clean equipment as needed.
• Greet customers and direct them to unload materials.
• Inspect materials for non-acceptable items and prevent prohibited materials from remaining on site.
• Interact with customers and team to maintain a safe, productive yard.
