Job Description

Red Wing Properties, Inc., is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at our Red Hook, NY location. The candidate will operate rubber-tired, tractor-type vehicles equipped with front-mounted hydraulically-powered scoops to lift and transport sand and gravel between storage areas, truck dump piles, and specific storage piles (mounds), as well as from storage piles to the hoppers of the processing plant.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-operational equipment checks and complete daily inspection forms.
• Conduct pre-shift site inspections following MSHA guidelines.
• Load trucks efficiently and safely.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including lubricating, fueling, and 250-hour services.
• Maintain stockpiles free of contamination.
• Keep yard and roadways well-maintained by grading and repairing potholes regularly.
• Assist with plant maintenance when required.
• Perform services on other equipment as needed.
• Clean up shop and oil storage areas.
• Operate other equipment as necessary.
• Use company radios or CB radios to communicate with the scale house and customers, ensuring correct material loading and awareness of loaded products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
