Job description

Overview

Red Wing Properties, Inc., is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at our Red Hook, NY location. The candidate will operate rubber-tired, tractor-type vehicles equipped with front-mounted hydraulically-powered scoops to lift and transport sand and gravel between storage areas, truck dump piles, specific storage piles (mounds), and from storage piles to the hoppers of the processing plant.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-operational equipment checks and complete daily inspection forms.
  • Conduct pre-shift site inspections following MSHA guidelines.
  • Load trucks.
  • Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and 250-hour services.
  • Keep stockpiles free of contamination.
  • Maintain yard and roadways by grading and repairing potholes regularly.
  • Assist with plant maintenance as needed.
  • Service other equipment when required.
  • Clean up shop and oil storage areas.
  • Operate other equipment as needed.
  • Use company or CB radio to communicate with the scale house and customers, ensuring correct material loading and awareness of loaded products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
